Surprise, surprise . . . De Lacey and Agatha are caught and were thrown into prison. Felix was deprived of wealth and rank. Safie's father wants her to return to her native land, but she refuses to go and makes a plan. Safie left the cottage of De Lacey and arrived safely in a town twenty leagues away. Her attendant got sick and Safie nursed her with the most devoted attention,but she died.
